Tóm tắt

Nghiên cứu can thiệp được tiến hành tại 6 xã ở tỉnh Phú Thọ nhằm đánh giá hiệu quả cải thiện tình trạng dinh dưỡng ở trẻ em lứa tuổi ăn bổ sung của thực phẩm tự nhiên giàu dinh dưỡng và thực phẩm công nghiệp có tăng cường vi chất. Toàn bộ trẻ em từ 6 đến 12 tháng tuổi ở các xã được nhận can thiệp dinh dưỡng dưới dạng thức ăn bổ sung (sản phẩm trên thị trường) hoặc thức ăn tự nhiên do gia đình mua và tự nấu. Các bà mẹ được nâng cao nhận thức về thực hành ăn bổ sung.Tình trạng dinh dưỡng, khẩu phần, tỷ lệ thiếu máu và thiếu Vitamin A được cải thiện đáng kể, nhóm sử dụng thực phẩm công nghiệp được cải thiện tốt hơn nhóm ăn thực phẩm tự nhiên.

 Abstract

The intervention study was conducted in 6 rural communes of PhuTho province in order to evaluate the efficacy of weaning food (using either nutrient-rich natural food or micro-nutrient fortified flour) on the improvement of nutritional status of children at weaning age. All children from 6 to 12 months old were given food supplementation either in the form of package instant weaning food (a market product) or home-cooked food. Their mothers received specific training on weaning food practice. Anthropometrical status, food consumption, anemia and Vitamin A deficiency have been remarkably improved with a better situation found in the group using fortified flour than that in the group using natural foods.
