Tóm tắt

Sự phát triển của ngôn ngữ gắn liền với sự hình thành và phát triển của lịch sử, văn hóa xã hội và khoa học của mỗi dân tộc. Những người làm việc trong hệ thống chăm sóc sức khỏe ở Việt Nam thường không khỏi có những băn khoăn về nguồn gốc của các từ, thuật ngữ về lĩnh vực này trong tiếng Việt. Bài viết này cho chúng ta biết về một số từ và thuật ngữ thường dùng trong chăm sóc sức khỏe ở Việt Nam như bác sĩ y khoa, bộ y tế, y tế công cộng và cử nhân y tế công cộng. Chúng ta nên thừa nhận ảnh hưởng lâu dài và sâu sắc của hai loại ngôn ngữ (ngôn ngữ Trung Quốc và ngôn ngữ gốc La Tinh) đến ngôn ngữ Việt Nam. Mặt khác, người Việt Nam cũng có nhiều sáng tạo để đưa các từ và thuật ngữ nước ngoài vào ngôn ngữ Việt Nam. Tác giả mong muốn giới thiệu một đóng góp nhỏ vào việc nhìn nhận lại lịch sử hình thành và phát triển các khái niệm, tên gọi và chức danh có liên quan đến chăm sóc sức khỏe trong ngôn ngữ Việt Nam.

 Abstract

The development of languages is closely bound with the taking shape and development of the histo- ry, socio-cultures and sciences of each nation. People working in the health care system in Viet Nam often find themselves uneasy about the origin of health terms and terminologies and their meanings in Vietnamese. This article attempts to provide readers some considerations of terms and termi- nologies commonly used in health care in Viet Nam such as doctor of medicine, ministry of health, public health, and bachelor of public health. We should acknowledge the long and profound influ- ences of two languages, namely Chinese and Latin-derived language, on Vietnamese language. On the other hand, Vietnamese people have creatively incorporate foreign terms and terminologies into their language.The author would like to introduce a small contribution to the recognition of the his- tory of formulation and development of several health-related notions, names and titles in Vietnamese language.
