On July 12-13, there will be a training workshop on tobacco control program management skills for staff deploying tobacco control program in 6 provinces/cities including Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Ha Tinh, Hue, Dong Thap, and Khanh Hoa will be held in Hue City. On July 13 in Quang Tri province, the results of baseline survey and the public poll on smoke-free policy implementation (conducted by VPHA) and survey on the enforcement of tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship bans in Vietnam (conducted by HSPH and VPHA) will be presented at the Conference "The elected deputies in North Central provinces with the policies on tobacco control." This conference is organized by the Department on Social Affairs of National Assembly and National Assembly Office in coordination with HealthBridge in Vietnam. On July 17-18, VPHA’s representative will present an overview report of policies and policy implementation for elderly people in Vietnam at the South East Asian Scientific on Aging in Malaysia. From July 18 to July 31, the VPHA’s tobacco program officer will attend training courses to enhance tobacco control skills at Johns Hopkins University, USA. On July 23, a workshop on research results on reproductive health care policies in Dong Thap will be organized by VPHA in coordination with Dong Thap PHA. The Lao Cai PHA will hold a workshop on building smoke-free agency offices in Lao Cai city.
